Many friends who drink wine will find an interesting phenomenon, that is, the Wine bottle is really diverse. Some wine bottles have large bellies and look very rich; Some are slender and tall, with a high and cold appearance… all of them are wine, why are there so many different styles of wine bottles? In fact, the bottle of wine has no effect on the quality of the wine. It is just a container for storing wine, and it does not make the wine more mellow like an oak barrel.
Bordeaux bottle: Bordeaux bottle is the most common type of wine bottle , and most of our common domestic and imported wines use this type of bottle. The body of the Bordeaux bottle is cylindrical, with a clear shoulder, making it a classic bottle shape in the Bordeaux region.
Among the 61 famous wineries in the 1855 series, 60 of them all use this type of Bordeaux bottle, while the only winery in the 1855 series is the ‘King of Marquis’, which is very stubborn in not using Bordeaux bottles. Colors include brown, dark green, and transparent. Generally, brown wine is used to hold red wine, dark green wine is used to hold white wine, and transparent wine is used to hold sweet wine.
Burgundy bottle: Burgundy bottles are also commonly used to hold wine made from Pinot Noir. The Burgundy bottle is quite different from the Bordeaux bottle in that its shoulder is not as obvious, so the transition between the neck and the bottle body is more natural and elegant. The Burgundy bottle appeared earlier than the Bordeaux bottle, and after its introduction, Burgundy wine was first used to hold Chardonnay white wine and Pinot Noir red wine, and has been in use for two centuries now.
